Ministries Starts At Home:
The vision is God's. The task is assigned to everyone that calls themselves Christian, and specifically members of the family of faith. With the power of the Spirit we will achieve God's vision for us as we extend ourselves in ministries through His dominion.

Eastside Elementary School

The hands of God reach into other areas of Central Florida as the congregation supports this elementary school, located in Haines City, Florida. As of September 2008, 97% of the almost 1,000 students attending qualified for the free food program.

This congregation provides financial support to purchase clothing, food(for children to take home), and other school supplies. At Christmas there is a special food drive for the school. As the school faces specific challenges, such as needing belts and pants for boys, in the fall of 2008, we respond with contributions and money in support.

The school may have poor children, but because of a dedicated staff and teachers they get a great “A” level education.

Hope N Literacy Foundation

The Hope N Literacy Foundation provides support to mission churches in Haiti. While it supports four churches across the country, its primary focus is directed to the Village of Casse-Pied, Haiti.

This remote village sits in the NW section of Haiti, on top of a mountain, five miles from the nearest village. Its remote location and the limited access to the area causes the 1,000 villagers to live off the land or make the difficult five-mile trip down the steep mountain to the village of Jean Rachel.

Prior to the Foundation, which was organized in early 2001, children had to walk the five miles (one-way) to school. This resulted in many uneducated members of the community. Worship in the village took place in an open field, weather permitting.

The Foundation has constructed a small building for the dual use of Church and school. Sunday is dedicated to worship with morning and evening services. During the week, 107 school-aged children receive an education, through by teachers hired and supported by the Foundation.

Lake Mary’s generosity, in the summer of 2009, changed their lives forever. In additional to supplying the church new musical instruments for worship, they provided a complete solar power system, including batteries for night use. The village now enjoys God given electrical power on a 24-hour basis. This has allowed the church/ school to have lighting for day and night use. It has also allowed some homes to receive electric lights, for the first time.

The Hope N Literacy Foundation continues to minister to this forgotten village, and Lake Mary and other Christian communities continue to stand behind them.

The Sharing Center

The Sharing Center

The Sharing Center is a faith-based non-profit organization that seeks to ease the stress of poverty and prevent homelessness by providing basic needs of food, clothing, shelter, and compassion to children, the elderly, and families in distress.

With the highest median income in the state, Seminole County, Florida also saw a 1.3% increase in the number of people living in poverty in 2004. This means 33,020 people live below the poverty level of $19,000 annual income for a family of four. That number has grown substantially between 2005 and 2008. The Sharing Center helps meet the needs of these people.

This congregation supports the Sharing Center through financial support, from our Missions tithe; contributions of clothing and other items for them to sell in their Thrift Store; special collections throughout the year including food for Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas Shoes support, and many others.
